Individual Art Therapy

Individual Art Therapy

Individual Art Therapy Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes in length, and take place in my Art Therapy Studio at Radical Healing. In Individual Art Therapy, you and I will work together to help you meet self-determined goals (examples of these goals could be recovering from distress or trauma, gaining emotional clarity, learning to manage symptoms, building self-esteem, finding self-fulfillment, or other goals). In all Art Therapy sessions that I conduct, I affirm and trust in you as the expert of your own experience. I work with an intersectional lens, meaning that I understand most people experience multiple, layered oppressions, and I will work with you to address the impact of those oppressions in therapy.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, including children, youth + adolescents, and adults. I am skilled in addressing the following:

  • Trauma, Complex Trauma + Traumatic Loss
  • Survivors of violence
  • Self-esteem + Confidence
  • Relationship Issues
  • Life transitions
  • Sexuality
  • Gender identity
  • Bullying
  • Anxiety
  • Body image

Group Art Therapy

Group Art Therapy

Art Therapy Groups typically run 60-75 minutes in length, include 10 or fewer members, and take place in the Group Therapy Room at Radical Healing. The Art Therapy Group is intended to serve as a safe space where clients (group members) can give and receive support, and share in healing together. My Group Art Therapy sessions are typically designed around a specific theme.

Intuitive Eating for Trans & Nonbinary Adults

Thursdays, 5:30-7pm \\ January 31 - March 14, 2019

Challenging cis-normative, patriarchal, and Eurocentric ideas that dictate how we relate to food and our bodies! In this group, we will relearn how to connect with our hunger and satiety cues, explore how our histories with food and diet have led to current behaviors and beliefs, and harness the collective energy of the group to move toward a place of deeper self-compassion and true self-care.

Hosted by Kelsey Domann-Scholz, LPCA, NCC and Cassie Hamrick, MAAT, LPCA at Radical Healing in Durham.
